About Us

Four generations of our family have been holidaying in North Devon since before 1940, when my mother bought her cottage for £60 having seen a painting of it by its owner - her art teacher.  We love this area with its sense of connection to the past, it's raw beauty and tidal rhythms.  This is a part of the world that appreciates the simple importance of the land, the sea and  human connection.  Here you'll find artists, poets, writers and musicians, farmers and fishermen along with the digital nomads and new entrepreneurs.  And here we have the best fresh scones, clotted cream and jam in the world!
